CleanBar reads your status bar and nothing else. It collects nothing and connects to nothing.
Last updated 1 January 2026
Short version: no accounts, no analytics, no screen capture, and no network connections.
What we collect
Nothing. CleanBar has no account system, asks for no personal details, and creates no identifier for you. There is nothing to sign in to.
The apps contain no analytics, advertising, attribution or crash-reporting tools.
What it can see
To empty your bar, CleanBar needs permission to read and rearrange the items in it. That is the whole of its access.
It does not capture your screen, read window contents, record keystrokes, or look at the documents you are presenting. Held notifications are passed straight back to the system when you restore the bar; their contents are never written to disk by CleanBar.
What stays on your device
Your presets and settings are saved locally so the app behaves the same next time:
- Which preset is active and what each one keeps
- Your keyboard shortcut
- Whether calendar triggering is on, and which calendar
- Whether CleanBar starts at login
These live in the standard settings location on your own machine. We cannot read them, and uninstalling removes them.
Network connections
The apps make no outbound connections at all. No update check, no licence check, no sync. Blocking CleanBar at the firewall changes nothing.
Calendar access
Calendar triggering is off unless you turn it on. When enabled, CleanBar reads only the start times of events you have marked, so it knows when to clean. Titles, guests and notes are not read, stored or transmitted.
This website
The site is static: no cookies, no analytics, no advertising. The only third-party request is to Google Fonts for the two typefaces, which exposes your IP address to Google as part of serving the file. Ask and we will send you a build with the fonts hosted locally.
Our host keeps ordinary server logs for security and troubleshooting. They are not linked to a person or used for profiling.
If you email us
We keep your message and address long enough to answer you. No mailing list, no sharing. Ask us to delete the thread and we will.
Children
CleanBar is a general-purpose utility and is not aimed at children. It collects nothing from anyone.
Your rights
You have rights to access, correct, export and erase personal data held about you. Ours are simple to honour: beyond a support email you may have sent, we hold nothing.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Anything that ever collected data would be opt-in and described here first.
