Terms of use

Agreement

By downloading, installing or using CleanBar, you agree to these Terms of Use and acknowledge our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not download, install or use the app. If you install or use CleanBar on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to accept these terms on its behalf.

Your licence

You get a free, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to use CleanBar for personal or commercial purposes, on as many devices as you own or control. No key, no registration, no expiry.

You may pass the unmodified installer to someone else, and organisations may deploy it internally without asking first.

What you may not do

• Sell, rent or sublicense the app, or bundle it into a paid product without permission
• Modify, repackage or redistribute an altered build, or present it as your own
• Remove the name, mark or attribution from the app or installer
• Reverse engineer it, except where local law allows
• Use it to conceal a recording indicator, or otherwise to mislead people about being recorded

Honest use

CleanBar hides clutter, not facts. Recording and camera indicators stay visible in every preset by design, and circumventing that is a breach of these terms.

A fixed clock in the screenshot preset is a documentation convention. You are responsible for how you use screenshots, including anywhere a real timestamp matters.

Price and availability

CleanBar is free. Platforms marked as soon are intentions, not commitments, and carry no date. Any part of the app may change or be withdrawn.

If a paid edition ever appeared it would be a separate product, and would not disable or restrict a copy you already have.

Updates

CleanBar does not currently update itself automatically or check for new versions. New releases may be made available through our website or other distribution channels and may need to be installed manually.

Future versions may change features or drop support for older operating systems. We do not guarantee that any particular version of CleanBar will remain compatible with future operating system, hardware or third-party software changes.

Privacy and analytics

CleanBar may use network connections to collect limited usage, performance and diagnostic analytics. Depending on the device and platform, this information may include your IP address, device and operating system version, app version, crash or error information, a device identifier, and information about how the app is used.

We use this information to understand how CleanBar is used, monitor performance and reliability, diagnose technical issues, maintain security, and improve the app. We do not use this information to build advertising profiles or for targeted advertising.

Our collection and use of information is described in more detail in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

Ownership

The app, its name, its mark and this site remain ours. You receive a licence to use the software, not rights in it. Other trademarks named here belong to their owners and are used only to describe compatibility.

No warranty

CleanBar is provided as it is, with no warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant it will be uninterrupted, error-free or compatible with every setup.

It hides and restores bar items and holds notifications briefly. Check your own setup before anything that matters, and keep the presets you rely on tested.

Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, including anything disclosed or missed during a presentation, recording or screen share. As the app is free, our total liability is limited to what you paid for it.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and your consumer rights are unaffected.

Ending the licence

Uninstall the app and the licence ends. It also ends automatically if you break these terms. The ownership, warranty and liability sections survive.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Hong Kong, whose courts have jurisdiction, without affecting mandatory consumer rights where you live. If one clause fails, the rest stands.
